T-Shirt Quilt

My name is Sheryl Keiler. I have been on my quilting journey since 2000. After a serious car accident in 1999, it was determined a year later that more surgery would be required. Knowing I would be laid up for several months afterward, I, along with my oldest daughter chose a project that would keep me busy for that time and selected a Double Wedding Ring quilt! After completing the queen size quilt all be hand, I decided that I liked this "hobby" and wanted to pursue it more. I took a "real" class to learn more and I've been hooked ever since!
I have made probably over a couple hundred quilts in many sizes and types. For 4 years, I taught beginners through my local park district where I used to live. I have gone on to specialize in creating memory t-shirt quilts for many individuals as well as charities including the 100 Club of Dupage County, South Suburban Humane Society and Special Olympics to mane a few.
After retiring from the Fire service after 22 years, my husband Bill and I re-located to Maple park 3 years ago where I pursued my quilting passion. I purchased a long arm quilting machine and started my own business, "Quilting Out Of The Box'. I also belong to 2 quilt guilds - Prairie Star Quilt Guild in St. Charles and DeKalb County Quilters Guild in Sycamore.
I look forward to sharing my passion of creating memory t-shirt quilts for a new group of eager students!
